Amos 5:4,5
For thus says the LORD to the house of Israel,
"Seek Me that you may live.
"But do not resort to Bethel
And do not come to Gilgal,
Nor cross over to Beersheba;
For Gilgal will certainly go into captivity
And Bethel will come to trouble.

God is speaking to the people who's been straying away from Him
before He is about to send His judgment on them. This is the
last call, sort of speak. However, He is still giving them a way
out by seeking Him instead of their own "strong towers." When we
are up against hardships, it is our tendency to turn to our own
shields, but God wants us to seek Him foremost.
Why, but we all say, "I am seeking God first," so what is so special
about it this time? God has been pressing upon my heart on
humility
lately and more I meditate on the concept of humility being the
good soil all of my other godly characteristics can lay their roots
down to grow, I am truly convicted that unless I come to a point of
completely humility before God, I will not be able to seek Him FIRST
as God speaks in verse 4.
I want to truly seek God with the purest desires based on my complete
humility so that I may live in His presence 24x7.
