A Horse is a False Hope

Psalms 33:16-19

The king is not saved by a mighty army;

A warrior is not delivered by great strength.

A horse is a false hope for victory;

Nor does it deliver anyone by its great strength.

Behold, the eye of the LORD is on those who fear Him,

On those who hope for His lovingkindness,

To deliver their soul from death

And to keep them alive in famine.

*
God brings His victory to us in His ways which is contrary to what we rely on
which is our own strengths and methods. As the king relies on his own
army, horses, and strong warriors, we rely on my own financial status or social
standings, or even size of our church. But God's victory comes when we fear Him and keep our eyes on Him.

Forgive me for relying on my "horses and mighty army" to be an effective
church for You instead of keeping my eyes on You while fearing
You through abiding in Your Word at all times.
