Guarding My Heart

Ephesian 6:14b

HAVING PUT ON THE BREASTPLATE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS

*
[Reflection from one of Pastor Wayne Cordeiro's sermon]

Back then, in an armor the breastplate's primary role was to protect the heart.
In fact, the only one heart I have is one of the most vital organ to sustain my
life. So, this breastplate plays quite an important role; and in my Spiritual
warfare, it comprises of righteousness. This means I must not waver in different
situations I go through, but to stand up for God's righteousness consistently.
That is the only way to keep this breastplate on me to guard my heart.

As I am going through a special point in my life to guard my heart, I
am clinging on to God in order I may exert all my strength to keep on my
breastplate of righteousness. I also realize that foremost, I need to ask
for His forgiveness for my failure to shine His Light in my setting due
to my own shortcomings. I want to claim the promises of Him who forgives
and empowers to reveal His glory in the end. I am surrendering my own
thoughts and plans before You, O God, as I await Your presence to overwhelm
this situation. In Jesus' name. Amen.
