Generations of Throne

2 Kings 10:30


The LORD said to Jehu, "Because you have done well in executing what is right in My eyes, and have done to the house of Ahab according to all that was in My heart, your sons of the fourth generation shall sit on the throne of Israel."

God commends Jehu for doing what was right in God's eyes according to all
that was in His heart. He pleased God by doing what He desires. This seems
very simple but Jehu had to fight against the cultural current coming from
the Baal worshipers, corrupted kings, and spiritual desert. He did this
by committing to preserve God's presence in his nation, and wiping out the
sins of his people completely as he can because that is what God wanted.

What is also awesome is that God rewards him with four generations of throne
in Israel. My takeaway here is that what I do to secure my future is
insignificant relative to what God will honor when I stick to His heart
and His plans of actions.
