2 Kings 2:9
When they had crossed over, Elijah said to Elisha, "Ask what I shall do for you before I am taken from you." And Elisha said, "Please, let a double portion of your spirit be upon me."

Elisha's answer to Elijah, his master, reminded me of Solomon's answer
to God's inquiry about what his one wish was because of the prompt
response in both cases. That tells me that such answer was being
thought out by them already because their lives was purpose driven.
In this case of Elisha, I can see that he was pursuing spirituality
like his master and he wished for the double portion of what his master
attained from God. He wanted to serve God with the necessary
spiritual foundation that he was pursuing under Elijah.
What would my answer be when asked the same question?
