God Abases, I Leap

Psalm 18:27-29

For You save an afflicted people,
But haughty eyes You abase.
For You light my lamp;
The LORD my God illumines my darkness.
For by You I can run upon a troop;
And by my God I can leap over a wall.

*
Quite an encouraging passage because it claims that God will come through!

The focus lies with God's doing and eliminating my own efforts other than
enjoying the outcome God promises to me. He will save me when I am afflicted;
light my dark corners; provide supernatural power to leap over obstacles.

What He does not want to see are haughty eyes; darkness; cowardliness against
the enemy (even though they may march in troops); not being able to leap
over obstacles.

Lord, I feel the pressures from various happenings around me and have been
leaning on You for some guidance. However, in Your silence, this passage
is teaching me to claim your promise to raise me up from my lows, and out
of such experience my whole life will be energized with power that will
make me leap over the wall right in front of me. Thank you for abasing
my haughty eyes and realigning it back to You. In Jesus' name. Amen.
