Deception of Mediocrity

1 Thessalonians 4:1

Finally then, brethren, we request and exhort you in the Lord Jesus, that as you received from us instruction as to how you ought to walk and please God (just as you actually do walk), that you excel still more.

*
The phrase "excel still more" caught my eyes. I am set to excel still more
in many areas -- career, making income, raising my children to be the best
children, driving the best car, living in a best neighborhood -- but am I
set to excel still more in my walk with God, allowing Him to bear the
most awesome fruits through my life?

It seems that nothing was in the way of Paul to excel for bringing out God's
glory to the max regardless of distressing circumstances he was in. Now is
the time for me to initiate the same attitude by stop focusing on my
complaints and start focusing on how much more I can excel to highlight
God's beauty.

Get out of the deception of
mediority
and go beyond where I am now for God.
