Comfort Through Your Faith

1 Thessalonians 3:7

for this reason, brethren, in all our distress and affliction we
were comforted about you through your faith.

*
From verse 1, I can see that Paul & Co. was in quite a distress, beyond
what they could bear at the moment. For Paul to be at such a point of
affliction, it really must have been critical. But even in such a
situation, Paul's strength (comfort) is drawn from hearing the good news
of his flock growing in faith.

This reminds me of John 4:34 -- Jesus said to them, "My food is
to do the will of Him who sent Me and to accomplish His work -- where
Jesus drew His strength from ministering to the Samaritan woman and
leading her back to God.

Lord Jesus, I have many distractions in my life called distresses
and afflictions which seem to drain my energy. I want to set my mind
and heart on increasing other people's faith which in the end becoming
the source of my comfort and strength regardless of my circumstances.
In Jesus' name. Amen.
