Am I in God's Way?

1 Thessalonians 5:19,20


Do not quench the Spirit;
do not despise prophetic utterances.

I am reminded to examine my current circumstances carefully to see
if I am "quenching the Spirit" or not. God is prompting me to
re-examine my heart in my distressing situations and wants me to
bring out God's work of the Spirit more rather than quenching it by
being ungrateful and unrejoicing.

God is speaking to me through these two verses clearly because He
did not put any conditions around it -- such as, do them only when
all other problems you have are resolved. In fact, I am reading
these more like: Even in your worst circumstances, do not quench
God's glory.
