Even When God Allows Bad Things to Happen

[S] 1 Samuel 19:9-10 --
9 Now there was an evil spirit from the LORD on Saul as he was sitting in his house with his spear in his hand, and David was playing the harp with his hand.10 Saul tried to pin David to the wall with the spear, but he slipped away out of Saul's presence, so that he stuck the spear into the wall. And David fled and escaped that night.
[O] If someone were to try and pin me to the wall with a spear, that's a terrible thing to happen.  And yet, in this scene, the evil spirit from the LORD came upon Saul to take such an action against David.  What I see here is that even the terrible things happen because God allows them and He is in full control of the overall situation.

[A] As I'm face with my child's rare disease, I feel like I've gotten hit with one of these spears deeply wounded and yet this passage is like an oasis to my soul to know that God is still in full control of the situation my family is going through.

[P] Dear Father, I'm most grateful for Your total control of my world because in You there is no foul play and there is no mistakes.  Everything will happen according to Your perfect plan.  I am lifting up my family now so we may recognize that fact and that instead of focusing on the down sides of the circumstance we're in we'd instead ride it like a wave to go to places You want us to be.  In Jesus' name.  Amen.
