Don't Want To Go If You're Not There

[S] Exodus 33:15-16 --
15Then he said to Him, "If Your presence does not go with us, do not lead us up from here. 16"For how then can it be known that I have found favor in Your sight, I and Your people? Is it not by Your going with us, so that we, I and Your people, may be distinguished from all the other people who are upon the face of the earth?"

[O] Moses is almost nagging God here so He will accompany the journey; otherwise don't even think about leading us forward.  The golden calf, shattering of the Ten Commandments tablets, and slaying of the thousands must have worn Moses down and came to a point of realizing he cannot do this alone without God.  So his decision of not taking a step further without God's presence was a worthy one.  This is not just to cover his behind but he desired for the people to know that he had found favor in His sight; and further, his people recognizing that and follow him in this journey will set apart the whole Israelites from the rest of the population on earth because they've been set apart (holy) to display God's glory.

[A] This is going to be my motto: I don't want to go if You're not there, Lord.  I surrender my own strength and plans to You so Your plans will shine through my life.  As God put me in the leadership positions in ministries, I will not lose focus of letting other recognize that I've found favor in God and that would be the inertia of my leadership.

[P] Dear Father, I'm so grateful for choosing a person like me to lead some of Your people here on earth.  I won't take another step if Your presence is not with me.  I am going to almost demand that You go with me cuz I don't want to go there if You're not there as the song I sang for You before and I want to make that my life's principle.  Please hear my prayer as I ask in Your name.  Amen.
