[S] Genesis 28:16-17 --
16Then Jacob awoke from his sleep and said, "Surely the LORD is in this place, and I did not know it."
17He was afraid and said, "How awesome is this place! This is none other than the house of God, and this is the gate of heaven."
[O] This scene reminded of how often I'm just still dreaming with how good my God is and get excited over what He will do through me but never waking up from that to claim His presence and to proclaim my position within His house in my reality. It's almost as if when I awake from my dream, I forget about God's wonderful promises and visions and go on with my own life.
[A] The lesson I learn from Jacob is to recognize that I am already in God's plan at all times through my ups and downs that I will proclaim my presence right in Bethel. Even though my motives or perspectives may not be 100% aligned with God's, having this posture before God will allow me to see the right ways He desires for me.
[P] Dear Father, I give You gratitude for bringing me into Your house and keeping me there regardless of my circumstances. May I awake from my sleep and say: Surely God is in this place! In Jesus' name. Amen.
