[S] Galatians 4:6 --
6Because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into our hearts, crying, "Abba! Father!"
[O] Something about this passage bothered me as I read it because how difficult is it to call God "Abba! Father!"? Isn't it something I just say with my mouth? But as I meditated on this verse I realized that while I may be able to make the sounds "Abba! Father!" unless I become His son and have the Holy Spirit inside me, I really cannot confess this genuinely. And this is why some people simply refuse to believe in God or to even call on the name of Jesus as their Lord and Savior. It's not because they do not speak the language, but they lack the Spirit in their hearts to call God their Abba.
[A] Thank God for allowing me to call Him my Abba. Remind myself that even calling Him Abba is not by my might but by His Spirit (Zechariah 4:6).
[P] Dear God, I am so thankful for allowing me to call You Abba at will through the Spirit living in my heart. May my life reflect the sonship You established to those around me. Please continue to humble me to reflect more of You. In Jesus' name. Amen.
