[S] 1 Corithinans 9:27 --
27but I discipline my body and make it my slave, so that, after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified.
[O] Isn't it so easy to "preach" to others how to do things than do it myself accordingly? This applies to may cases for me but especially in the area of raising my children this is more so critical because I really need to walk the talk for them to see that I am also disciplining my life to follow Christ with utmost seriousness. Here Paul talks about how he does not want to be disqualified by not following what he preached to others. I am a bit comforted by seeing that even Paul asks such question but at the same time, this question makes me to increase my commitment to Lord for walking my talk to set a model for my children to follow.
[A] Lead the path by doing my morning devotions regularly so they would follow.
[P] Dear God, thank You for revealing me the insight of leading my children to follow You. Instead of making a checklist of things to do or not to do, make me to set a good example of walking my talk. In Jesus' name. Amen.
